Sandra Dunkin, MD
About Me
Psychiatrist, Dr. Dunkin, originally from the Rio Grande Valley, pursued her education in central Texas, excelling academically.
She graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Nutritional Sciences from Texas A&M University and earned her Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Texas A&M University College of Medicine.
Her dedication led her to complete a rigorous four-year residency in general psychiatry at The University of Texas Dell Medical School in Austin where she is now an affiliate faculty member and teaches in both the medical school and residency program.

Madisyn Puangco - Physician Assistant
Madisyn Puangco is a Physician Assistant committed to providing high-quality, compassionate mental health care.
Madisyn completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Spanish from Baylor University and is a graduate of the Physician Assistant Studies program at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
Madisyn believes in delivering mental health care that is individualized, relationship-centered, and grounded in evidence-based practice. She values building meaningful connections with her patients and supporting them as they work toward healing and personal growth.
In her free time, she enjoys baking, walking her dog Daisy, and spending time with friends and family.
Kristin Staten - Pyschiatric Nurse Practitioner
Kristin Staten is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centered mental health care. She believes in building a warm, inclusive space where every individual feels genuinely heard, respected, and empowered on their path to wellness.
Kristin holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Business Administration from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi, as well as a Master of Science in Nursing from Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
Her practice is grounded in a holistic, evidence-based philosophy — one that prioritizes authentic relationships and personalized care. She works alongside her patients to cultivate healing, emotional resilience, and lasting personal growth.
Outside of work, Kristin enjoys cooking, spending quality time with her family, and keeping up with her spirited Boston Terrier.
Ashley Brancato - Therapist
Ashley Brancato is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over three years of experience in the mental health field. She is committed to supporting adult women in navigating life’s challenges and achieving personal growth and healing.
Ashley specializes in working with adult women who feel uncertain about their current path or are seeking to process and heal from past experiences that may be hindering their progress. Her approach is compassionate, client-centered, and rooted in evidence-based practices to promote lasting transformation.
She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Phoenix San Diego and went on to obtain her Master’s in Biblical Counseling at Dallas Theological Seminary.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending time outside with her family, and learning how to cook.
Kathleen Moore (LPC-S) - CPT Therapist
Kathleen Moore, LPC-S is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board-Approved Supervisor dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care.
Kathleen earned her Master’s degree from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado, and completed additional graduate training at The University of Texas at Austin. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Education from The College of New Rochelle in New York. Kathleen has been recognized by the Texas Counseling Association with both the Dr. Jamesanna Kirven Award for Outstanding Counselor and a Distinguished Service Award for her leadership and contributions to the field.
Kathleen specializes in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), a structured and highly effective treatment for PTSD, depression, anxiety, guilt, and shame. She is committed to creating a safe, supportive space where clients can freely express themselves, gain insight, and build the tools needed for lasting change.
In her free time, she enjoys supporting her professional community, engaging in creative practices, and spending time with loved ones.
Kyla Green - TMS & Spravato Tech
Kyla Green is a graduate of Texas A&M University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2022. She serves as the clinic’s Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Technician and plays a key role in supporting patients undergoing Spravato® (esketamine) treatment, while also assisting with various administrative and clinic operations.
In her role, Kyla works closely with patients and the clinical team to ensure treatments are delivered safely, comfortably, and efficiently. She is dedicated to creating a supportive and reassuring environment for individuals navigating treatments, helping patients feel informed, heard, and at ease throughout their care.
Kyla has also worked as a personal trainer for the past two years, an experience that has strengthened her passion for the connection between mental and physical health. She values a holistic approach to wellness and believes that both mental and physical well-being play an essential role in overall health.
She plans to continue her education in the mental health field, with a long-term goal of expanding her clinical expertise.
Outside of work, she enjoys staying active, spending time with friends and family, participating in various outdoor activities like hiking and fishing, and spoiling her dog Charlie.
Rebecca Ramirez - Administrative Assistant
Rebecca Ramirez is a graduate of Baylor University in Waco and completed her Master in Human Services degree from St. Edwards University in Austin.
Rebecca’s humanitarian assistance experience includes years of international refugee work, provision of therapy in residential treatment centers, and teaching in Texas.
Assisting in various aspects of office support, she enables the scheduling and flow of the clinic to go smoothly with attention to respective client needs and situations. Working part-time at BrainWell Psychiatry allows her to continue her passion of travelling and listening to live music with family and friends.
Dave Wells - Office Manager
Dave Wells is a graduate of Iowa State University with a BS in Metallurgical Engineering.
Prior to joining BrainWell Psychiatry, he spent 39 years in the semiconductor industry overseeing new product introduction and global manufacturing.
Dave’s work assignments provided him the opportunity to experience and learn from cultures around the world.
As a second career, Dave is enjoying the challenge of learning the business aspects of the health care industry to support our patients and practice.
Outside of the office, Dave enjoys spending time with his wife traveling, hiking, skiing, golfing, attending live theater & music, and training our therapy dog Chloe.
Chloe - Therapy Dog (In Training)
Chloe, an adorable Australian Bernedoodle, has joined our team as a Therapy Dog in Training.
Chloe was born July 11, 2023 in Montrose Co and has called Bastrop home since she was 8 weeks old.
Chloe can be seen around the office doing her training exercises and will one day be available for patients who would appreciate her presence while waiting for an appointment or in session.
